UI freezes when creating new chats

As explained in the title, the UI freezes when creating new chats. There is also a weird behaviour: 2 windows open when I open the app. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app without success.

In the video I show that (1) the app isn’t intially running (2) I start the app and 2 windows open then I close one of the two (3) the UI freezes when I try to open a new chat (4) i kill the process and reopen the app to find 2 new chats which are functional.
