Improve UI of dictation feature

1. The post-transcription UI looks wrong, the sharp, pointy edges should be rounded.

2. Add a ‘small’ mode for the instant dictation bar. I like the glass/frosted UI of the bar, but its way too big. Get inspiration from the bar from WisprFlow and Superwhisper’s mini bar for how it should look.

3. You can easily match/beat the features provided by some of the top Mac transcription apps out there by simply adding an AI post-transcription processing feature. Give a base system prompt and a few other customisable presets (like email, coding etc) and perhaps a dictionary (ideally a smart one that learns from corrections that you make from incorrect transcriptions)

This is now getting slighly more onto the chat bar, but still on dictation. I like the fact that the words show up as you speak, but I do think the UI could be improved here, perhaps a waveform? Sorry, I know “the UI can be improved” isn’t all that helpful, but I can’t place what’s wrong, I just know something is.

Lastly, for the transcription side, do consider allowing the user to choose existing models on their device. Considering that a larger portion of your customers are developers anyway, they likely have some external model downloaded on their Mac. For me, I already have the Parakeet model downloaded but from another transcription app, and unfortunately on BoltAI there’s no way for me to select that already downloaded model.

A few more rapid-fire ideas for improvements to transcription:

• Auto transcribe media files through watched folders

• n8n and other workflow integrations

• Translation of transcript with AI model

I completely recognize that this app is an AI app and that transcription is not your primary focus, but as a developer myself, I know how useful feedback can be.
