Have confirmed that behaviour is the same is file added by using the “add file” option

This is tricky because by default, most AI providers do not accept excel file type. So in BoltAI, I have to extract the content to plaintext first. In this case looks like it cannot parse the excel file. Any chance you can share the file with me? Thanks

Apologies for delay in replying. Now running 2.9.1 (build 62). Dropping the .xlsx file gives - “BoltAI couldn’t read the contents of thefile.xlxs. Please try saving it again or exporting to a modern office format”
I’ll try to recreate it using a generic excel spreadsheet as I can’t upload this one to here for debugging

ok, here is one with no data but two tables and two sheets. This will not open in Bolt. Opens in Excel ok (but contains errors as I have removed data).
