BUG: Often VTT transcription doesn’t get posted into the prompt

I am finding that more often than not, when I use VTT for writing my prompt, when I click the blue checkmark button the VTT input modal closes and nothing is inserted into the prompt. I essentially lose what I dictated.

Because this happens so often (more often than not) I am now in the habit of first selecting the live transcription text that appeared in the modal, so that I can manually paste it into the prompt when the UI fails to do so.

This is on v2.12.0 (build 67).

    I can confirm this occurs with other VTT services.

    When I switched over to BoltAI V2 (from V1) I selected the Apple VTT service. Which is what creates the little VTT popup with live transcription shown in my demo video.

    I have now switched over the using Whisper via OpenAI. Which, as you know, just shows a recording speech bar. When I finished my dictation the same issue occurred. No text ended up in the prompt, so I lost what I had dictated.

    So, for now, I have reverted to using the Apple engine, because at least with that I can manually copy the resulting transcription and then manually paste it into the prompt if and when BoltAI fails to.

    I recall BoltAI stores the audio recordings somewhere (at least it did in V1). @Daniel Nguyen can you remind me where that is?

      Okay, this is interesting. On the above-mentioned test with Whisper (as opposed to Apple VTT service), even though no text appeared in the prompt UI, I noticed the Send button was blue (as if it had text entered and ready to send). So I hit send, and my transcript got sent to the LLM. So it seems the VTT did work, but it just didn’t show me the resulting transcript in the prompt input. So that’s the bug that needs looking into.

    occurring. Ironically, the VTT actually worked a couple of times whilst making this video, yet it hadn’t worked for the three previous prompts. It did, however, fail as per normal in a number of the tests in this video.
