Bug: Instant chat bar on Mac app enters endlessly looping spasm of thinking and responses

  • The AI provider & model you’re using. OpenRouter. DeepSeek V4 Flash.

  • Steps to reproduce the issue. Start a chat with the instant chat bar. See the video below to see what happens maybe ~20% of the time.

  • The error message. NA.

    I found and fixed another case that could cause this looping behavior. The fix will be included in the next release.

    I can’t reproduce the issue. But I added a few improvements in v2.14.1. Can you try again?

      I’ll let you know if it happens again in normal usage. No specific way to trigger it.

        @Daniel Nguyen Unfortunately the problem is still here. See the two AI calls responses not separated by any user input. Also, the window shakes even when not scrolling.

          Thanks. I recently added the ability to record raw request & response, can you enable it and share me the log when this happens again.

          To use it:

          • Open Settings → Developer.

          • Start recording AI traffic.

          • Continue using BoltAI normally.

          • After the issue happens, return there and stop the recording.

          • Send me the exported file.

          The recording does not include your chat or reasoning content. Sensitive content and attachment details are redacted; it preserves only diagnostic information and useful API fields.
