[Bug] Critical: "New Chat Default Agent" and Context settings do not persist after app restart (Reproduced on 2 Macs)

I am experiencing a persistent issue where my "Default Agent" and "Chat Context" settings are not saved after quitting the application. I have reproduced this behavior on two different Mac computers.

The Goal: I am trying to set up a specific System Prompt and Model (Claude 3.5 Sonnet / Gemini 3 Pro) as the default for all new chats for my employees.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Go to Settings -> Chat Context.

  2. Under "Base Agent Settings" OR "New chat default agent", I configure a specific setup:

    • Model: Claude 3.5 Sonnet (or Gemini Pro).

    • System Prompt: Added a custom instruction.

    • Temperature: Set to 0.5.

  3. I ensure the settings are applied (I can see them).

  4. I quit BoltAI completely (Cmd + Q).

  5. I relaunch BoltAI.

  6. I create a new chat (Cmd + N).

Expected Behavior: The new chat should start with the Agent/Settings I configured as default (Custom System Prompt + Selected Model).

Actual Behavior: The settings revert to the factory default "Base Agent" (Empty System Prompt, Default Model). The application "forgets" my selection in the "New chat default agent" dropdown.

Environment:

  • App Version: (2.7.0)

  • macOS: (15.7.2 (24G325))

  • Models used: Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Gemini 3 Pro.

This makes it impossible to configure the workspace for L1 Support staff who need a persistent System Prompt.
