BoltAI issues due to outdated documentation

I am having several issues with BoltAI because the documentation appears to be outdated.

Google web search does not seem to work given that it no longer supports searching the entire web.

Next to that, I can't get any models in BoltAI to perform file operations like Codex does, even though the documentation mentions support for both a Shell and an AppleScript plugin. Neither plugins seem to show up anywhere, no matter which model, cloud or local.

Also, the documentation mentions setting a path variable in the settings pane, but I can't find that anywhere either.

    Sorry for the confusion Andy. You’re right, the documentation in v1 does mention these plugins and it’s not available in v2 yet. I’ve been actively working on this and will release a new version soon.

    The reason it’s not on v2 yet is because of security. In v1, the app is not sandboxed, meaning it can freely access any file in your mac. It’s more powerful, but it can also a lot more dangerous with prompt injection and LLM hallucinations. Using it this way might wipe your data or stealing your sensitive information. So in v2, I enable App Sandbox by default. With App Sandbox, the app cannot access your files freely unless you explicitly allow it to. And because of this, it’s harder to support the file operations etc like Codex.

    BoltAI is more secure than Codex in this area. Codex does not use Apple’s App Sandbox, instead they implemented their own sandbox and with their own model guardrail. For BoltAI though, since the model is not in my control, I can’t guarantee it would not hallucinate and damage your system. So my best bet here is to follow Apple’s App Sandbox and implement a good permission system.
