I see. Comparing BoltAI to how Claude’s 'Cowork' works: • BoltAI still requires manual uploads, which leads to file duplication—it would be much smoother if it could just read from a local folder. • Also, since I live in Excel, I really miss the way Claude can jump in to handle repetitive data cleansing by editing the file directly or spinning up a new, cleaned version for me.

can you explain more what you mean by processing local files?
do you want to ingest them into llm? (this can already be done by boltai). Just attach them or add them to a project.
or do you want a llm to change them like ini, py, md files? For example i use pycharm MCP server to help boltAI with working directly with same files i have open… and in addition if boltai LLM changes any files i can see the diff…
there are some MCP servers that handle local file stuff… did you check any of them? but if you clearify what you need maybe we can help

try to activate local MCP with this conf, no luck
{"mcpServers": {
"filesystem": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"@modelcontextprotocol/server-filesystem",
"/Users/myname/Downloads"
]
}
}
}

That’s strange. Do you see any error message?
